DUMP INFO: Specific information on who did what, and when, in the Turk Road dump site is proving a little bit elusive. The BOD’s researchers have made a lot of progress on the issue that Council wish would go away. Do you have, or do you know of someone who does have, factual or anecdotal evidence of the dump’s history? Do you recall the Co-op fire and its aftermath? The dump questions and the related water safety issues are looking like our strong points. Please, even the smallest detail will help to fill in the puzzle. Contact Carol or Chuck.
As for Council? Your BOD is preparing yet another list of questions to ask the Mayor. One of the questions will be “Why haven’t you answered our previous questions?”.
November Fundraising: At Vernonville Hall on either November 5 or 12. This evening of entertainment and dancing features the Shelter Valley Boys. More info soon.
The autumn issue of ON NATURE, published by Ontario Nature, has a one page report on SVA and Shelter Valley. “No peace in the valley”, page11. Carol, Chuck, and Bob have copies.
