A VALLEY VOICES REMINDER

Many of you will already have received information about the  September 10 Annual General Meeting.

 

For a variety of reasons, some of the present Executive are standing down. This creates an immediate leadership challenge for our Association as we gear up for the OMB hearings, but it also presents the opportunity to revitalize and re-energize our group by bringing in fresh blood with new perspectives and new ideas. This is a very healthy process.

 

Whether the Association continues to thrive or dies on the vine depends on members who are willing to let their name stand for election to the Board of Directors.

 

Is there work involved? Yes! Is there frustration and anxiety involved? Yes! Do you have to be an expert in such arcane matters as a hearing de novo? No! Is there satisfaction involved? Yes!

 

Please consider standing for office. Over a hundred families in the valley and beyond are looking to the Board to stand up for the Valley and the community.

 

In addition to the election, we will be discussing our finances and fundraising, our communications, the experts we have hired/expect to hire and, of course, what we are doing to prepare for the November 6 Hearing with the OMB.

 

Every one of us has a stake in the community. Please show your support by attending the AGM. If you aren’t a member, we have included an application for you.

 

We are looking forward to seeing you on Sunday – all the more so if you are bringing your cheque book     ;-)
